I meant to post this yesterday, but I was really busy shopping for my Girl Scout Girl Award Project. 

ANYWAY. Yesterday was Poverty Awareness Day at my school, and for those of you who don't go there or missed it, it was both hilariously awesome and the most useless thing EVER. The most entertaining thing was probably the simulation, where four of us were a family from Nicaragua. We had to cross the border (aka jumping down a hallway with linked hands) into America (aka the gym) from our homeland (aka library). Then we had to try to sneek past border control (taking a chip that had red or green on it, green means go). We failed. Then we tried to go legally, which meant filling out a visa form. But because we were non-English speakers, we had a form with crazy ass symbols. So, we read it wrong, and failed. We tried illegally again, then we paid off a worker to human traffic us. But somebody caught us, and we had to go back to the library again. We tried illegally again, but lost. So we paid off another official for a visa form that was in English. Then we got into America/gym, but the simulation ended before we could get a job or a house, which was what we were supposed to do. We started with 200 points, but ended with 20 because of all the paying people off.

The other amusing thing was this Jamaican guy that sung in the assembly. I didn't catch his name, it was something like Itzami or Itzoui or something. He did indeed have a lovely Jamaican accent, and ended every statement with 'ya know?' Still, it was funny because someone kept calling him during the performance. He actually stopped one of the songs in the middle and answered the phone. I'm sorry, but it is common curtesy to TURN OFF your cell phone, or at least put it on silent. And definitely not stop singing and answer it.

Also, his songs all sounded EXACTLY the same tune wise. However, there was one that made me happy. The chorus I will now write out for you:
